1st Job Shadowing<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

In May 2019 the 1st Job Shadowing took place in Lima (Peru): two volunteers from
\nEuroDemos Youth Mobility NGO (Italy) and EuroFRC (Poland) experienced the reality
\nof the city and the best practices developed by the Hosting Organization, Centro Urbes,
\nin the framework of environment, urban sustainability, youth work and green
\ncommunity development.<\/p>\n

The timetable combined presentations and technical visits led by Centro Urbes
\nshowing their story, educational approaches, main objectives and latest projects as
\n\u201cResilientes\u201d and \u201c#SalvemosLasLomas\u201d Campaign.<\/p>\n

Job Shadowers had the opportunity to discuss the impacts of green social
\nentrepreneurship in Peru with an emphasis on the environmental aspect, being focused
\nin the challenges, opportunities, access to resources and networks, Governmental
\nsupport, and the initiatives in Lima of Centro Urbes\u2019s allies.<\/p>\n

As well, the participants visited specific places in Lima to get immersed in the Peruvian
\nrecent history at the LUM Museum (place of memory, tolerance and reconciliation)
\nlearning about the years of terrorism and corruption in our country between 80\u2019s and
\n2000\u2019s, and to discover our ecosystems around the city, like \u201cPantanos de Villa\u201d, a
\nwetland by the ocean that is part of the Natural Protected Areas National System and the
\nRAMSAR sites, an international agreement for wetlands conservation.<\/p>\n

Finally, we visited the Lomas de Amancaes Community, one of the sites of the Lomas\u2019
\necosystem in order to portray and make the Job Shadowers experience the complexity
\nof the city, their natural spaces and the challenges of community conservation. We
\ntalked with the members of PAFLA (Protectores Ambientales de la Flor y Loma de
\nAmancaes), a local initiative for conserving the natural heritage that is locally led by
\nwomen. This was for sure the place the participants loved the most, where they went up
\non the hill with the whole local community.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I were a tourist, I would only know the touristic places of Lima, but this opportunity
\nopened my eyes and now I feel more approach to this city\u201d. – Natalia – Poland<\/p>\n
